1. Overview

Linksy empowers content creators to set their own refund policies while maintaining buyer protection standards. This policy explains how creator-set refund windows work, when refunds are available, and how to request them.

Creator-Set Policies: Each creator on Linksy chooses their refund policy from three options:

  • No Refunds: Content is final sale (non-refundable)
  • 15-Day Window: Refund available within 15 days of purchase (minus processing fees)
  • 30-Day Window: Refund available within 30 days of purchase (minus processing fees)

The creator's chosen policy is clearly displayed on the product page before purchase. Our system protects both buyers and sellers: buyers can get their money back within the stated window, but sellers are protected if their content has been accessed.

2. Refund Eligibility

2.1 Requirements for Refund Approval

Your refund request will be APPROVED if ALL of the following conditions are met:

  • Request within creator's refund window

    Must be within the timeframe set by the creator (15 or 30 days). Check your purchase receipt for the specific deadline.

  • Creator offers refunds

    The creator has not set their policy to "No Refunds" for this content

  • Content NOT accessed

    You have not downloaded or revealed the content

  • Good faith purchase

    Not fraudulent or using stolen payment method

2.2 Reasons for Refund Denial

Your refund request will be DENIED if:

  • Creator offers no refunds

    The creator set their policy to "No Refunds" - this was shown before purchase

  • Content has been accessed

    You downloaded or viewed the content - this is our main protection for sellers

  • Beyond refund window

    Request made after the creator's stated timeframe (15 or 30 days)

  • Fraudulent purchase

    Purchased with stolen or unauthorized payment method

  • Chargeback dispute

    Payment disputed directly with your bank/card issuer

3. Content Access & Refund Protection

3.1 How Content Access is Tracked

To protect sellers, we track whether you have accessed the content you purchased:

  • You see a blurred preview of the content initially
  • To access/download the content, you must click "Reveal & Download"
  • Once you click this button, the content is marked as "accessed"
  • This timestamp is recorded and cannot be undone
  • After access, refunds are not available

3.2 Why We Track Access

This system protects sellers from refund abuse where buyers download content and then request refunds. Sellers have already earned the right to their payment once the content is accessed.

Think of it like buying an ebook and reading it - once you've read it, you've received the value, so refunds aren't available.

3.3 Important: Review Before Downloading

Non-Refundable Fees

The following fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund:

  • Platform service fee: 7% of the purchase price
  • Payment processing fee: ~2.9% + $0.30 (charged by Stripe at the time of purchase — not recoverable on refunds)

These fees are incurred at the time of purchase and cannot be recovered regardless of whether a refund is approved.

  • Linksy reviews and approves your refund request (typically 1-3 business days)
  • The refund amount (purchase price minus fees) is returned to your payment method
  • The seller's earnings are reversed
  • Platform fee (7%) and Stripe processing fee (~2.9% + $0.30) are both retained — non-refundable
  • After approval, funds appear in your account within 5-10 business days

5.4 Why Fees Are Non-Refundable

The platform fee covers the cost of hosting, payment processing, security, and facilitating your transaction. By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms as outlined in our Buyer Terms of Purchase.

7. Chargebacks & Disputes

If you need a refund, please use our refund request process instead of filing a chargeback with your bank. Chargebacks:

  • Are more expensive and time-consuming for everyone
  • Result in automatic refund denial
  • May result in account termination
  • Damage seller reputation unfairly

7.2 Chargeback Consequences

If you file a chargeback instead of using our refund process, your account may be permanently suspended and you will forfeit any remaining balance.

8. Special Situations

8.1 Defective or Corrupted Files

If you received corrupted, incomplete, or non-functional files, contact the creator first. If they don't respond, contact us at [email protected] with evidence. We may:

  • Contact the creator for replacement files
  • Process a refund regardless of the refund window or content access

  • Buyers contact Linksy support — not you — to request refunds
  • Our team verifies eligibility against your policy and the content access status
  • Approved refunds are deducted from your pending balance
  • You will be notified by email when a refund is processed on your content
  • Remember: Buyers who accessed content are automatically ineligible for a refund

9.3 Content Quality Responsibility

  • Is accurately described in the listing
  • Matches the preview shown to buyers
  • Works properly and is not corrupted
  • Provides the value promised

Note: Linksy reserves the right to override "No Refunds" policies in cases of defective content, fraudulent listings, or creator abandonment.

10. Changes to Refund Policy

We may update this refund policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Your continued use of Linksy signifies acceptance of changes.

If a refund request is pending when policy changes occur, the previous policy applies to that request.
